Previously F9. If you arrived here searching for the F9 pass rate, this is the right paper. ACCA renamed its exams in 2018 and F9 Financial Management became FM.

ACCA reports pass rates for session-based papers at all four sittings, so FM has a figure for March, June, September and December each year.

Why FM's pass rate looks like this

FM has moved within a two-point band across the last three reported sittings. It is a calculation-led paper, which suits candidates who prepare by working questions rather than by reading.

Marks are most often lost on investment appraisal where the discount rate or the treatment of working capital is wrong, and on the discursive parts of Section C, where a correct number still needs an explanation of what it means for the company's financing decision.

FM is a session-based exam, so ACCA reports its pass rate at all four sittings.

How FM compares

FM runs about 7 points above PM and 4 below FR. Together with PM it forms the calculation-heavy pair at Applied Skills, and the two are rarely recommended in the same sitting.
